7 Healthy Lifestyle and Eating Habits to Make You Feel Better Physically and Mentally

If you feel tired and run down during the day and always seem to be getting colds and flu’s even in the summer then, you need to have a good look at your lifestyle.

Consider the following 7 tips to help you get you in tune with natural rhythms of your body.

Tip One:

Acquire the habit of getting up in the morning when the sun rises. This means that you should rise earlier during the summer season and later during the shorter days of the winter season. As well as rising with the sun also acquire the habit of eating lights meals when you are fully awake and avoid eating late night snacks.

Tip Two:

How you eat is just as important as what you eat. If you tend to eat one or two heavy meals a day you are putting stress on your digestive system. Acquire the habit of eating light and often. You can eat snacks during each of the three main meals of the day however, ensure they are natural healthy snacks such as fresh fruit.

Tip Three:

If you eat a diet that consists primarily of meat then you should try and reduce the amount you eat. Include more nutrients and natural fibre by introducing more fresh organically grown fruit, vegetables, seeds and sprouts into your diet. Eat more fish especially the oily varieties that are high are in omega 3’s such as mackerel and herrings. If you do eat meat then choose products that have not been intensively reared.

Tip Four:

Change your diet to a more natural one. This means including more raw, uncooked and unprocessed foods. Avoid or reduce eating foods that come out of a box or a tin.

Tip Five:

Lower your intake of foods that are high in refined sugars and flour. These include cookies, chocolate, cakes and pastries. These types cause your blood glucose levels to shoot up and down resulting in energy slumps and moods swings. Eat more natural sugars by eating fresh fruit.

Tip Six:

Water is the most effective detoxer and cleanser of the body. Drink only fresh water that has been filtered. Do not drink direct from the tap unless it is properly filtered. Try to drink approximately 8 glasses of water every day.

Tip Seven:

Acquire the habit of having a regular exercise routine. This does not mean that you have to train like a professional athlete. All you need is 20 to 30 minutes a day. Even 15 minutes of getting out of breath can do wonders for you.

If you have a food allergy or a medical condition consult your doctor first before changing your diet or exercise routine.
