Frederik Vesti has joined PREMA from ART GP for 2023 FIA F2 season.

Speaking about his decison to stay in F2 and reunite with PREMA after two seasons at ART GP, Vesti described his switch as “great news” for him.

Vesti also can’t wait to return to the PREMA environment as he added: “Prema is an amazing place to be at and in my opinion, gives me the best opportunity to fight for the F2 title in 2023!

“I have big dreams and Prema is the team I believe that I can achieve those dreams with.”

The 20 year-old Dane though acknowledged that next season should be just as tough as this season proved to be, as he iterated: “There is no doubt that 2023 F2 is going to be incredibly close, but I will give my everything to be fast and consistent throughout the season.”

PREMA Team Principal, Rene Rosin meanwhile is “delighted” to sign Vesti for next season with the Dane set to make his returin during the 2022 F2 Post-Season Test in Abu Dhabi this week.

On why PREMA are happy to bring Vesti back into the team after two seasons apart, Rosin added: “He is a quick and hard-working driver, which we already had the chance to appreciate in 2019 and 2020.

“We are obviously looking forward to joining forces again and seeing what we will be able to achieve together next season.

“With his skills and the experience he has matured, we expect him to be a contender and we are determined to support him the best way we can.”

Vesti will partner Oliver Bearman as the Brit steps up to the second-tier after impressing in his rookie F3 season this year, meaning that PREMA will field an all-new F2 driver line-up in 2023 with Dennis Hauger having joined MP Motorsport and Jehan Daruvala now looking for a new seat.
