Yankees, Guardians rained out, split doubleheader Saturday

CLEVELAND

As the New York Yankees viewed with amusement, two imposters dressed as sluggers Aaron Choose and Anthony Rizzo ran into the rain-soaked outfield in advance of undertaking tummy slides on the infield tarp.

Friday night’s series opener New York and Cleveland was postponed by rain, the most up-to-date weather situation for the Guardians, who have now performed five doubleheaders at property.

Interestingly, Francona’s father, Tito, was twice traded for Doby — in 1955 and ’57.
