Yankees’ revised schedule includes 3 Texas trips, 2 doubleheaders; Here’s entire 162-game schedule

TAMPA — The revised Yankees’ schedule is finally out and some tough-travel changes have been made to get in a full 162-game season.

Due to the lockout wiping out the previously scheduled first week of the regular season, the Yankees now will be forced to make three trips to the state of Texas instead of one to get in series with the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros.

The Yankees now will go to Houston for one game instead of being off on June 30, and they’ll return for a day-night doubleheader on July 21, the Thursday after the All-Star Game. The Yanks’ regular season now will end with four road games in three days against the Rangers, singles bookending a day-night twinbill.

The change also set up a fun Opening Day for the Yankees because they’ll be home at Yankee Stadium on April 7 facing the Boston Red Sox.

Prior to the lockout, the Yankees had been scheduled to begin the season on the road with a four-game series against the Rangers and then three in Houston.

This will be the first time the Yankees play Boston on Opening Day since 2009 when the Red Sox prevailed 8-2 at Yankee Stadium.

Here’s the entire Yankees’ schedule:
