Win all the remaining games
CSK needs to overcome the likes of table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) who are in excellent form in their last two group matches. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and back in form Mumbai Indians (MI) will be hoping to avenge their defeat in first half of the tournament.
CSK Remaining Matches: RCB, DC, MI, GT, RR
Bowling department
The CSK bowling department will have to deliver in the last 5 games as they have failed to pick up wickets on a consistent basis. Only Dwayne Bravo and Mukesh Choudhary are among the positives for Yellow Army in the bowling department.
- Dwayne Bravo– 14 wickets in 8 matches
- Mukesh Choudhary– 11 wickets in 8 matches
- All other bowlers– 24 wickets in 9 matches
Inconsistent batting department
The openers Ruturaj Gaikwad & Devon Conway played once in a blue moon partnership stand in IPL 2022. Gaikwad needs to continue his form after just managing a couple of fifties. The likes of experienced players in form of Robin Uthappa & Ambati Rayudu also need to take responsibility and finish off matches instead of waiting for Dhoni’s final touches.
No.3 issue
With Moeen Ali injured and Mitchell Santner failing to play the role of a pinch hitter, Dhoni & Co have not found the proper fit for the No.3 slot. Moeen, too, blew his chances with failed performance before Santner was forced into the crucial batting position.

R Jadeja in IPL 2022
R Jadeja has to come finally come to the party after leaving captaincy. He has been dismal in IPL 2022 but showed signs of improvement in the last game against SRH. Even though he didn’t pick wickets, he bowled an economical spell of 3/15 in 3 overs. He also lifted the fielding level after catching blunders in previous matches.
Fielding
CSK has been dismal on the field this year as they dropped maximum catches this season including MS Dhoni’s drop of SRH captain Kane Williamson.
